Paid Time Off
Calculating and tracking employees' paid time off
benefits can be a complicated and time consuming process. Department
Managers' Toolkit has a built in Benefit Manager that calculates
employees' benefit accruals to ensure accurate tracking of used benefit
hours. By automating the entire benefits process, Department Managers'
Toolkit Benefits Manager gives administrators more time to spend on
mission critical tasks that increase overall profitability.
Separate accrual rules can be defined for different types of employees
such as full time or part time, and each policy can have multiple
periods or time frames in which different calculation methods are
employed. Vacation, sick leave, and other types of benefits hours are
customized based on the policies to be enforced. Benefits Manager tracks
each employee's benefit accruals and performs calculations according to
the configuration of Benefits Manager policies. Employees can be
assigned to multiple consecutive policies over their tenure, and
balances can be rolled from one period into another.
Many companies have unique benefits policies, so there are countless
ways that benefit hours are accrued. Benefits Manager is fully
customizable through a wide range of parameters and can accommodate
nearly any type of benefits policy.
Other Benefits
The employee benefit
center simplifies benefit administration by combining all required data
input into one form. The employee data tab contains read-only
information from the employee record. It is used to allow you benefit
administrator to view primary data regarding this employee.
We realize that most
companies will track and deduct costs associated with employee benefits
using their payroll system. Therefore, you are not required by the
system to utilize the Deduction on Earnings portion of the form.
In addition to the
above, the benefits chosen and contributions tabs will display the
information regarding the employee benefit selections. These will be
used when the employee access’ the web interface and is one method for
keeping the employee up-to-date on their selected plans.

The deduction on earnings tab can be used to update
all regular deductions for this employee.

The benefits chosen tab can be used to track
employee benefit selection. When used, this information is also
available to the employee on the web.

You can track beneficiary information if
appropriate.
The contributions tab can be used to track employee
contributions for the selected benefit.
